Aronela received her Nursing Diploma in Romania in 1990. She graduated York University School of Nursing with an Honours Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Summa cum Laude in 2009. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing at York University.
Her research interests are related to late and persistent effects after cancer treatment and psycho-social aspects of cancer journey. She is currently coordinating several studies under the supervision of Dr. Christine Maheu, RN, PhD. These studies are looking at fear of cancer recurrence in cancer survivors and psycho-educational interventions for uncertainty management in individuals with inconclusive BRCA 1 and BRCA 2 genetic test results. As part of the Cancer Survivorship team, she is actively involved with the Lymphedema Clinic and the Gattuso Rapid Diagnostic Clinic project.
