Dr. Norma D’Agostino completed a Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology at the University of Toronto and a post-doctoral clinical psychology fellowship at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. D’Agostino has been a licensed psychologist in Ontario since 2003.                                    Â
As a clinician-scientist and staff psychologist, Dr. D’Agostino’s priorities include direct patient care and research. Her work focuses on young adult cancer survivors, including long-term survivors of childhood cancer. Young adult cancer survivors have unique psychosocial needs related to the developmental tasks associated with this life-stage, including establishing independence, becoming comfortable with their unique identity, creating significant relationships with peers and romantic partners, and preparing for a career.Â
Dr. D’Agostino’s clinical practice and research focuses on creating developmentally appropriate psycho-social resources for adolescent and young adult cancer survivors, optimizing the transition process from the paediatric to adult cancer centre, and exploring how the cancer experience in early life influences psychosocial adjustment and development across the life-span.
