Scott Secord MSW RSW is the Clinical Manager, Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Survivorship Program 2005-present. He is also a Member of the Canadian Patient Education Network (CPEN) 2005-2009, Co-chair of the CPEN Survivorship Committee 2008-2011, Member of the Canadian Association for Psychosocial Oncology and a participant in the Scientist Survivor Program through the American Association for Cancer Research 2004-2011. Scott is an Adjunct Lecturer with the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto. The focus of his clinical practice and research has been in the area of empowering cancer survivors and oncology teams through innovative strategies including: patient education, technology solutions, disease self-management. Responsibilities include supporting a dedicated multi-disciplinary team representing nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, psychology, patient educators, cancer survivors and researchers. Projects have focused on innovative models of clinical care, information technologies and collaborating in survivorship research. Primary goal is to strive to improving the cancer patient experience and increasing the clinical capacity of Princess Margaret Hospital to deliver effective survivorship care.
