  • “Cancer taught me to STOP, to stop my hectic life, the craziness that was going to work everyday and being busy. Cancer taught me to stop and reflect on the things that are important and the things that are important in my life - my family, my friends, and taking the time to do things that I love - as oppose to just focusing on my work and career advancement. As terrible as a cancer diagnosis is, it gave me an opportunity to reflect a lot about the things that are important”

  • “Don’t let your cancer be your 24-7 obsession! That is where good people go wrong. I went through that in the beginning - I would think about my cancer, and dwell on my cancer, and it would only bring me down."

  • “Cancer is depressing so dont hide your feelings. If you are grouchy, just turn around and say a few bad words and carry on. Hit the wall, and get angry. Just don’t hold onto it."

  • “If someone offered you poison, and you knew it was poisonous, would you take it? Probably not! Some people are poisonous to you and you have to learn to deal with that. During your cancer journey, you are going through a rough time and it is very important to make sure you keep yourself and your integrity high. Get what you need, from who you need, during this time. You owe it to yourself”

  • “I’m pretty young, 28! Before my diagnosis, I had a very busy life. I was always filling up my schedule if there were any empty slots - I would say yes to everything. Getting this diagnosis reminded me to take better care of myself."

  • "When I was told I had terminal brain cancer, I was in shock...and then I waited passively for things to come and "take me down". I got my business in order - I have two children, and I wanted to make sure, that at the least, financially they would be taken care of. Then, as I still continued to survive/live...I started to think now what? How do I do this, even though it is nothing like before? It is too simple to say in a few words....but one of the main thoughts that came to the fore is that I have the moment, the present day, so live within this realm to the fullest possibility."
