Nutrition

Coping with a Sweet Taste:

  • Cancer and cancer treatment such as chemotherapy, surgery, radiation to head and neck and some medicines can cause changes in the way that foods taste.
  • If foods taste sweet, try adding a little salt or lemon juice for a tart or bitter taste to lower the sweetness of foods.

  • You can also try cooking with frozen cranberries, buttermilk, yogurt and decaffeinated coffee

  • Remember that tastes will get better over time, but for some people taste changes can last for a year or longer. Everyone is different.
