Cancer-related constipation can be caused by a variety of reasons that may include use of certain medications, not drinking enough fluids, and eating certain foods or not getting enough fibre. Talk to your doctor about the possibility of taking a laxative.
If you have mild constipation, eating more fibre may help. High fibre foods help make your stool softer and easier to pass.
Make sure to slowly add fibre to your diet so that you do not get bloated or gassy. Also, drink a lot of liquids while increasing your fibre intake. If you do not drink enough your constipation may get worse.
