Keep food
smells to a minimum. Nausea (wanting to throw up) is a common side
effect of cancer treatment. The smells of some foods may make your nausea
worse.

Try bland
foods with little seasoning or strong flavours such as crackers, plain
biscuits, bread or toast.

Ginger is an old remedy for nausea. Have
ginger biscuits, ginger ale, or ginger tea as an alternative to green or black
tea.

If you are worried about feeling nauseous,
join your friends and family later for dessert or tea. This may help you avoid
some smells in and around the kitchen that may make you feel nauseated.
