Ingredients

4 eachPopcorn Kernals
1 tbspGrape Seed or Canola Oil
4 tbspMaple Syrup
1 tspGround Cinnamon

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a heavy pot, over medium. Add kernels and give the pot a little shake. Add the lid, just slightly ajar.
  2. Once it starts to pop, carefully shake once and a while so that the un-popped kernels settle to the bottom. Once the popping stops, remove from the heat. Pour popcorn out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Heat your maple syrup and in a pan, over medium. The bubbles will be small at first, stir in your cinnamon. Once the bubbles become larger (about 2 minutes), remove from heat and drizzle over your popcorn (Be very carful, as the hot maple syrup can burn you).
  4. Allow a few minutes to cool, and then toss the popcorn together and enjoy.

Nutrition

  • Popcorn can be a delicious and healthy snack, as it is a whole grain, but often comes with alot of added sodium. Try popping your own and seasoning it to your liking. Nutritional yeast, cinnamon and smoked paprika are great options to add some flavour to your snacks.
