Nutrition

  • Enjoying fruit each day may prevent bladder cancer. Variety is key – choose fruit in a variety of colours to get a wide range of cancer-fighting antioxidants.
  • Peaches and bananas are low acidity fruits so they shouldn't irritate the bladder if you are experiencing sensitivity. Frozen fruit is an affordable way to enjoy fruit in every season. Did you know that frozen fruit can be higher in nutrients than fresh fruit?
  • Having higher levels of selenium in the blood is linked to a lower risk of bladder cancer. Nuts are rich in selenium as well as heart-healthy fats and protein to provide energy and build muscle.
  • If you have a small appetite and would like to gain weight, increase the calories in this recipe by using whole milk or full fat coconut milk.
