Drink your calories.
When appetite is low, or we just need something extra to nourish, a nutritiously-dense smoothie or shake is the way to go. Use full fat coconut milk and 5% or higher Greek/Skyr/Mediterranean yogurt to maximize on calories and protein.
Mix and Match.
The beauty of smoothie recipes is that they are easily customizable, so you can substitute different ingredients based on taste preferences or specific diets. We bring in the pineapple flavour without the fibre with strained pineapple juice. Swap pineapple for mango or canned peaches/mandarins to flavour it differently. Blend in an unflavoured protein powder, such as whey protein, or even a scoop of powdered milk, for protein that helps with maintaining healthy muscle.
