  • Just half a cup of coffee or tea each day may lower the risk of the most common type of brain tumour. A European study of nearly half a million people found that people who drank more than half a cup of coffee or tea each day had a 34% lower risk of developing glioma brain tumours compared to people who drank less than half a cup. Keep in mind, it’s possible to get too much of a good thing. Research suggests 2-4 cups a day may have health benefits, but more than this can affect your sleep and may increase the risk of bladder cancer.
  • Coffee is rich in antioxidants such as caffeic acid and cafestol. In the lab, caffeic acid has been shown to lower inflammation and cause cancer cells to self-destruct. In cell and animal studies, cafestol was observed to prevent cancer-causing chemicals from causing damage to healthy cells.
