Ingredients

10-12Italian prune plums, halved and pitted
1Orange, juice and zest
1 tspCinnamon
2 tbspButter, melted
1 cupCooking oats
2 tbspPrunes, roughly chopped
2 tbspAlmonds (or any nut), roughly chopped
2 tbspBrown Sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Toss plum halves in about 2 tbsp of orange juice, orange zest, and 1 tbsp of brown sugar. Spread evenly in a baking dish.
  3. Combine oats, melted butter, prunes, nuts and remaining brown sugar. Sprinkle over plums.
  4. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes or until topping is golden brown.

  • Prunes and plums are high in phenols called neochlorogenic and chlorogenic acid. Research suggests that these phenols help protect fat in our brain and bloodstream against free radical damage.
