Surviving & Thriving (2012)

On June 11, 2012, ELLICSR hosted the 3rd annual National Cancer Survivors Day (NCSD).

This year, we honoured the late Dr. Robert Buckman with our Surviving & Thriving theme that celebrated survivor stories through artistic expression.

Here's a look back at the day's events:

Dr. Laura Adams is the President and CEO of the Rhode Island Quality Institute (RIQI).

Adams spoke with wit, charm and remarkable honesty about the challenges she faced as a cancer survivor and how that drives her to make the care in her own health care system more patient friendly.
